Dr. Amita Gupta is a global leader in infectious diseases, public health research, and medical education, serving as Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is also Deputy Director of the Center for Clinical Global Health Education, Faculty Co-chair of the Johns Hopkins India Institute, and Professor of Infectious Diseases with a joint appointment at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.Board certified in infectious diseases, Dr. Gupta specializes in HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, antimicrobial resistance, and global health research, with much of her work focused on India through long-standing Indo–Johns Hopkins collaborations.
