Ashok Jacob is the Executive Chairman and Founder of Ellerston Capital, a Sydney-based financial institution focused on asset management, corporate advisory, capital solutions, and structured products. With extensive experience across investments, corporate strategy, and governance, he has played a pivotal role in building and guiding diversified financial enterprises and strengthening cross-border business relationships.
Prior to founding Ellerston Capital, Ashok served as Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Press Holdings from 1999 to 2011, where he oversaw significant investment activities and strategic growth initiatives. Earlier, he was Managing Director of Thorney Holdings from 1991 to 1998. Over the course of his career, he has served on the boards of several prominent public companies, including Crown Limited and Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, and was Chairman of Hoyts Cinemas.
From 2013 to 2023, Ashok served as the Government-appointed Chair of the Australia India Council, contributing to the advancement of economic and cultural engagement between Australia and India. He also represented Australia on the Quad Investor Network board. Ashok holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
