Prashanth Prakash is a founding partner at Accel India and a pioneering force in shaping India’s modern startup ecosystem. A serial entrepreneur turned venture capitalist, he began his journey by founding Visual Reality in 1995, one of India’s earliest animation companies, followed by NetKraft, a successful offshore technology solutions firm. Since 2004, he has played a transformative role in venture investing, helping build Accel India into one of the country’s most influential early-stage investment platforms and backing category-defining companies such as Flipkart, Ola, Freshworks, Swiggy, and BookMyShow.
Beyond venture capital, Prashanth has been instrumental in strengthening Karnataka’s startup and innovation landscape through policy leadership and ecosystem-building initiatives. As Chairman of Karnataka’s Vision Group for Startups and a member of the National Startup Advisory Council, Government of India, he has helped shape enabling frameworks that positioned Bengaluru as India’s startup capital.
